The wording is not lost on him. In fact, he places his mug back on the coffee table momentarily. They may have been separated a long time, but he knows his friend well. Something weighs on his mind. It's one thing to seek enjoyment out of getting Emet-Selch to do something with him or for him, but this seems something different entirely.
"A distraction from what?" He has an inkling. There is a reason they are sat out here and not asleep after all. Still, he cannot be sure.
